Proses Loading Transformer ke kapal

Surabaya (28 December 2023) – Approaching the end of 2023, PT Terminal Petikemas Surabaya (TPS) has successfully loaded 3 units of transformers or electric transformers weighing 43 tons each, products from an Indonesian transformer company located in East Java.

Transformers that are successfully loaded are included in the Uncontanerized (UC) category or packaging without containers. Similar to the Out Of Gauge (OOG) or Over Dimension (OD) cargo category, namely large sized cargo that cannot be loaded in a standard container, this cargo category requires very intense handling, precision and coordination, starting from the planning process, transportation to loading onto the ship.

Special equipment, including 4 units of shackles/seal and 4 units of wire rope slings, was prepared, as well as a special type of chassis used, namely a low bed chassis.

TPS Corporate Secretary, Erika A. Palupi said that handling special cargo like this is nothing new for TPS. "Several special cargoes, both import and export, have been handled by TPS. "With the long experience and competence possessed by TPS human resources, the loading process can run smoothly and safely," said Erika.

Loading was successfully carried out on the under deck of two ships, namely MV Adams for 2 Transformer units and 1 other unit was loaded on the MV. GSL Vinia, with port of destination Tanjung Ppanjang, Malaysia. And it is estimated that by early next year (2024) there will still be 3 similar cargoes loaded via TPS.

"Thank you for the trust given to TPS in handling this delivery process. TPS is also happy and proud because this delivery is also proof that the nation's children's products have successfully reached the international market," added Erika.

In closing, Erika said that this success was inseparable from the solid cooperation between TPS, cargo owner PT Bambang Djaja, forwarder PT Perdana Transline Logistik and carrier Maersk Line.

Throughout 2023 until November, TPS recorded a 19% increase in UC/OOG/OD handling through TPS, compared to the same period the previous year. With this achievement, TPS is becoming stronger as a reliable and reliable logistics partner in handling the export/import of special cargo.

In the future, TPS is committed to continuing to provide the best service for the satisfaction of cargo owners and all its customers.

As 2023 closes, TPS is also optimistic that it will record a positive trend in the flow of export and import containers, where the realization up to December 27 2023 has been recorded at 1,345,831 TEUs or an increase of 4% compared to the previous year's realization.
